Every once in awhile I catch myself thinking about this or that, wondering why they don't re release some great things lost in the past.. maybe that means I'm getting too old where 'they don't make em like they used too but hell I don't care.. Had to be about 97-98 I remember flipping through a skate magazine and coming across this ad, man these shoes were fresh..
No matter how you slice it, suede and gum rubber is always a winning combination and these were stacked with both. The gum rubber on skate shoes is super sticky, these things would just adhere to your grip tape, plus it came up so high on the sides for extra control. That big old fat tongue let you rock them extra wide if you know what I mean and concealed on the underside was a premium stash pocket.
The new Nike Koston's should be out soon, but I'd take the old ones.
